Instructors on Greece Needed at Loudoun By Barbara Wilan, Loudoun Program Committee ChairAt Loudoun, we are in search of instructors to teach courses on ancient or modern Greece, our central topic from fall 2019 through summer 2020. Have you taught a unit on Greek mythology, Greek theater, or a single Greek play like Oedipus or Antigone in school? Have you studied ancient Greek art and/or architecture through your travels or through books or classes? Is there any aspect of Greek history, culture, or politics that you are able to share with us? Ms. Ettakit has noticed an alarming increase in the number of late-arriving members, especially for 9:40 classes. One of her recent classes had 16 people enter the room between five and 25 minutes after the speaker had begun! These latecomers often must climb over those already seated, or, especially in TA-1, scoot crouching across the front of the room between the instructor and the audience. And many of these folks were significantly late—from 15 to 30 minutes after the start of the class. This behavior is very distracting and rude to both your fellow OLLI members and our instructors. Please plan to arrive in time to be seated by the beginning of your class. If you are REALLY late, perhaps you ought to consider not attending.
